home - welcome at fat lava II -the first worldwide virtual exhibition on 20th century german ceramics

June,22 2009 : The first virtual worldwide exhibtion on 20th century german ceramics has closed its doors...
Thanks, on behalf of Allan, Colleen & Adrian Krzempek, Al Baynham, Mark Hill, Graham Cooley and Patrick & Petra Folkersma to everybody for making this a success !!.

This website will be on air for the next couple of months, and we will see what happens with it.

Fat-Lava II is the name of the second “Fat Lava” exhibition. The original one held in King’s Lynn, England in 2006 was a static exhibition and in one country only.
This time, the team behind Fat Lava II came up with the novel idea of reaching out to collectors, connoisseurs, artists and students on wider basis by extending the scope of the publicity.
There are now four delightful exhibitions aiming to give an insight into the origins of these remarkable pieces, their designers and the environment within which they were produced in the late 20th Century.
There are three static exhibitions ,located in three different cities Köln (Cologne) in Germany, Reading in the UK and Ballarat in Australia.
There is also a virtual exhibition that can be visited online via this web site which functions as a hub between the three static locations.
In addition, the stunning displays in these exhibitions can be examined through a variety of media

The exhibitions can be viewed on-line as stand-alone ones or in combination. In addition, the displays are accessible in the form of photos, short films/movies, webcams , and online broadcasting shows including an archive of recent broadcasts.
Live broadcasting begins soon and when it does, you will be able to contribute to it yourself. Viewing the event will have the effect of drawing you into it.

To participate, sign up at stickam.com, set up an account and send us your material. Our own account on this site is Fat Lava II You can also participate by sending a photo of yourself together with your German Fat Lava ceramic/s. These will be published on the media page beneath your Fat Lava pictures.
The exhibition runs for four weeks i.e. from 30th May 2009 to 21st June 2009.
A program of activities will be announced shortly. However, for advanced publication notes see press releases .
